Post election tasks

After the election-- The never-ending waitlists are still  the symptoms of a broken developmental system.

After the election---YOUR CHILDREN AND ADULT CHILDREN still need to have legislation that will protect them and give them the right to receive the supports and services they need to have access to the same choices and opportunites as the rest of Ontarians.

Other countries have had this type of legislation for decades.

What are the next steps for UFEO

after this election?

UFEO will be sending letters to:

  •  Honourable John Christopher Millroy, Minister of Community and Social Services
  • Honourable Eric Hoskins, Minister ofChildren and Youth
  • Premier Dalton McGuinty

UFEO steering committee members will be meeting with local MPPs to share the challenges people with developmental disabilities face and our vision to ensure they have the same choices and opportunites as the rest of Ontarians.

UFEO will also be connecting with other provincial family organizations and advocacy organizations to share our vision.

UFEO will continue to participate in the different committees with the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Children and Youth to ensure that our concerns as families and the welfare of our children are always at the forefront of their discussions.
